Directions from Logan Airport to Bates Lab

Follow exit signs from Logan and stay in right lane to Rte. 1A North (Malden-Revere). Stay on this road about 2 miles. When you approach the Rotary, go 1/2 way around to Rte. 60 (always follow signs to NH-Maine) (DO NOT TAKE RTE 1A TO LYNN). Immediately after passing Howard Johnson's Bisuteki Restaurant, watch for the ramp to Rte. 1 North. Follow Rte. 1 North approximately 16 miles to Rte. 62W exit. From bottom of ramp travel 1 mile to Manning Ave. (watch for signs to Bates Linear Accelerator Center). Come all the way up the hill and around to the front of the building to flagpole at Reception Area.

From Downtown Boston to Bates Lab

From Boston take the Tobin Bridge to Rt. 1 North. Continue on Rt. 1 No. for approx. 18 miles. Take Rt. 62 West exit - go 1 mile to Manning Ave. on right. Watch for the Bates Linear Accelerator sign. Come all the way up the hill, and around the front to the Administration Bldg.

Campus Shuttle Bus to Bates Lab

The shuttle from the MIT Campus to Bates leaves Bldg. 26-516 promptly at 8:15am Mon-Fri. Passengers should be at Bldg. 26-516 at least 5 minutes prior to departure. It remains at Bates for approx. 1/2 hr and returns to Campus by 10:15am. The afternoon shuttle leaves Bldg. 26-516 at 3:15pm and returns to Campus at approx. 5:00pm.
